When bakerdays got in touch asking if I would like to review one of their cakes, I jumped at the chance.
Who would turn down the chance to review cake?! Not me!
(…the things I have to do in the name of blogging eh?)
An online cake shop, bakerdays specialises in creating unique and personalised cakes. They create tasty treats for any occasion such as weddings or birthdays, and they also bake delicious cupcakes, too. There is a wide range of flavours available including lemon and chocolate. They also offer gluten free and dairy free cakes too.
I plumped for the letterbox cake and chose a traditional sponge as this is my husbands favourite and selected one for Father’s Day. Although if it was just for me, I would have ordered a red velvet cake. I choose a design from the website, which I think is really cute. There are loads of designs to choose from on the website or you can ask the in-house designer to make one just how you like such as including photos.
All that was left to do was select a delivery date. It could have been not be any easier.
When the box clattered through my letter box and landed on my floor, I let out a little squeal.
When I opened the box I found that the cake was presented in the delightful tin which I thought was a really nice touch.
The cake itself was really delicious. I often don’t like too much icing on top of a cake and can find it overwhelms the sponge but they had got it just right. I shared the cake with my husband as I had it personalised just for him. It was so tasty we devoured it in one sitting (oops!)
At £14.99 I think this is such a lovely and different gift idea for Father’s Day.
Bakerdays has kindly given my readers a 15% discount off their cakes using this code CUBKIT15.
Thank you so much to bakerdays for asking me to review one of their cakes.
Would it be bad if I order one just for me?!
